IMPORTANT MESSAGE: My practice style integrates conventional and CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine). Few, if any, visits to my office include conventional medicine exclusively. CAM generally, is NOT, a covered service in most health insurance policies- including Medicare. That part of your visit that entails conventional care is, of course,  most often covered by your health insurance (depending on your contracted coverage) but CAM is usually not reimbursable. Payment for CAM services is your responsibility each time that you visit my office which will typically be with each visit. This includes that part of the visit that involves CAM,Homeopathy, CAM nutritional diagnosis, treatment and/or advice and separately for laser, acupuncture, etc. Your copay does not cover CAM services. CAM fees vary with the time spent and/or modality used. If you are a cash pay or HSA patient these fees are included in your payment. They are NOT exorbitant. Please check with my office before you come. We are quite transparent. Typically, your first visit lasts 75 minutes with me directly. Your next visit (a follow up of suggestions and lab tests) is usually scheduled for 45 minutes. If you are a new patient and you are seeing me for the first time for a cold, bronchitis, stomach  ache, etc.,that has just come up, the time allocated is much less (usually 10 or 15 minutes) as this is simply an acute visit. I will not be able, if scheduled this way, to spend more time than that which is required to help you with that , sudden onset problem specifically.  I am doing my best to make a visit affordable but I can not spend as much time as I do with my patients, use my 30 plus years of expertise in CAM and not be reimbursed for the special services my practice offers.I employ CAM even for acute visits because it is often effective and safe when compared with conventional therapies. If you would like to know what CAM consists of, please select the " What Is CAM?" section from the options on the menu above so you can better undertand.
